Buenos Aires, Dec 13 (NA) – Host and comedian Homero Pettinato issued a lengthy public statement after Sofia 'La Reini' Gonet leaked private chats on social media, another personal conflict that left him exposed to the public.
According to the Argentine News Agency, Pettinato recounted that the incident escalated after a photo of him with a friend at a concert circulated online.
"She was not my girlfriend, she is a friend I love very much and whom I hadn't seen in ten months," he clarified, and stated that from that point on, he began to suffer "a frenzy of madness and violence" at the hands of "La Reini."
In his testimony, the comedian admitted to having said "horrible" things in private conversations, but explained that it was a reaction to a relationship he described as deeply violent.
"When I read it, I feel tremendous shame and I regret it because I am not like that and I never have been," he expressed, and added that he apologized immediately.
Pettinato stated that he endured for a long time insults, manipulations, threats, and situations of extreme control. Among the episodes he mentioned, he spoke of death threats, a possible fire at his apartment, and public shaming with false information.
"I put up with everything, all kinds of manipulations, controls, death threats, threats to set fire to my apartment, threats to publicly shame me by making things up, threats to invent chats," he said.
"But one always believes that the other person is going to change," he assured.
Throughout his statement, Pettinato expressed a certain fear of the impact of this conflict on his professional life.
"Today I find myself facing another public shaming that is going to harm me a lot in my career and my work," he said, and highlighted that those who know him know that "he has always been a good guy" and has no history of aggression or mistreatment with ex-partners.
Finally, he explained that his intention was not to expose Gonet publicly, whom he said he still loves, and whom he described as a person going through "a psychological problem that can be worked on."
